At least a dozen Canadian youth have been scheduled to take part in at least a portion of the Crossroads walk from Vancouver to Ottawa, the third time since 2007 the pro-life youth group has provided the travelling pro-life witness in Canada.

The University of Calgary saga continued with the pro-life students of the club Campus Pro-Life hosting the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) on April 8, despite warnings from the university administration. This was the ninth time the GAP had been hosted at this campus since 2006. The students were issued notices by campus security threatening punishment for their actions.

Theresa Gilbert Court initiating legal proceedings against their student union, the University of Victoria Students’ Society (UVSS). The students are members of the campus club Youth Protecting Youth (YPY) and have dealt with years of discrimination against them because of their beliefs about abortion.

They have done this for a number of years and last year were charged with trespassing by police at the request of the university administration. After more than three years of gaining and losing club status, the pro-life club at Lakehead University, Life Support, seems to have its club status to stay.

Patrick B. Craine Trespassing charges brought against six members of Campus Pro-Life, the University of Calgary’s pro-life club, have been stayed by the Crown prosecutor – a decision that means the charges effectively have been dropped.
“We are relieved by this decision on the part of the Crown prosecutor,” club president Leah Hallman stated in a press release. “Campus Pro-Life has consistently maintained that all of our actions were in full compliance under the law.”
