Godless schools

At the beginning of another school year, the parents of children in the public schools of Canada might well earnestly reflect upon what their children are likely to be taught about the vital issues of faith and morality. Fifty years ago, there was little reason for concern. Parents could have confidence that teachers in the publicly funded Catholic and non-denominational public schools would teach their students to respect the ... (Continue reading)

Ode to Foy

In June 2009, as the Catholic church began its celebration of the “Year of the Priest,” Monsignor Vincent Foy celebrated a truly remarkable milestone: his 70th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. We offer our sincere congratulations and express our profound gratitude to him on this happy occasion, for no priest has worked as hard, as long or as well to defend the culture of life in Canada from the rampant intellectual errors of the 20th century. For 25 years, until ... (Continue reading)

The cure

A round-bellied African child and an eager-eyed American politician approach a well. Wappel’s 13 recommendations for Catholic clergy and bishops

Editor's Note: On Nov. 19, 2008, former Liberal MP Tom Wappel addressed the Campaign Life Coalition Catholic clergy luncheon and during his talk, presented 13 recommendations to help the clergy and bishops become more effective in motivating Christians to fulfill their civic obligations on political issues.
