Surrey board bans Planned Parenthood

Sue Careless The Interim With reports from the Surrey/North Delta News Leader Planned Parenthood has been banned by the Surrey Board of Education as a resource for its sexuality program. The ban began January 25, when board vice-chair, Robert Pickering, submitted a motion to ban Planned Parenthood as a resource in the school district. The motion passed 3-1. Life sentences Two recent U.S. rulings have gained close scrutiny from both sides of the abortion battle.  In September ’93, Month in Review reported on a case of a man who shot a pregnant woman during a hold-up, and caused her to miscarry.  The 4th District Court of Appeals in San Diego has since sentenced Robert A. U of T students fight to oust racist organization Planned Parenthood’s own history came back to haunt it as the organization narrowly survived a student-led attempt to ban it from participating in activities at the University of Toronto. The Student Administration Council voted 13-9 to continue ties with the organization which promotes birth control and is closely tied with the abortion industry. Douglas Scott, Vice President for public policy of the Christian Action Council, based in the Washington, D.C. area, gave an informative lecture on the history of Planned Parenthood from its inception to the present day.
