For living in a great country in which pro-life activism, despite the obstacles and difficulties, still flourishes. For the means to be actively pro-life – our health, our families, those in the background that make things happen. For the unwed mothers who keep their babies despite feelings of hopelessness and vulnerability or in the face of challenging emotional or physical environments. For those who work in crisis pregnancy centres, who help make the decision to carry a child to term a little easier. For ... (Continue reading)
Amnesty International is slamming yet another Latin American country for its pro-life laws. In a recently released report , Amnesty called Nicaragua’s total ban on abortions a “cruel, inhuman disgrace” and charged that the new law has led to an increase in maternal deaths. As in the cases of Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Peru, Amnesty’s latest report on Nicaragua incorrectly argues that international law requires countries to permit abortion, and, according to critics, it misrepresents the facts which actually show ... In the wake of the launching of the first-ever Campaign Life Coalition student-run fashion show benefit, it seems that mainstream media and grassroots pro-life, pro-family groups may be on the same page. In August, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, an award-winning American radio talk show host whose weekly program boasts over 8.5 million listeners, threw her name behind Colleen Hammond’s book, ... At the beginning of another school year, the parents of children in the public schools of Canada might well earnestly reflect upon what their children are likely to be taught about the vital issues of faith and morality. Fifty years ago, there was little reason for concern. Parents could have confidence that teachers in the publicly funded Catholic and non-denominational public schools would teach their students to respect the ... (Continue reading)

In August, three Montreal abortuaries said they would stop committing abortions if the law was not amended to exempt them from the provisions. ... (Continue reading)
The New Brunswick government has revealed it will not pursue a further appeal to the Supreme Court to prevent abortionist Henry Morgentaler from suing the province to pay for abortions at his Fredericton abortion mill. Four years ago, a pro-life group in the small northern Ontario town of Kirkland Lake was experiencing a crisis. It was a story familiar to many such groups across Canada who have been forced to shut down, even as the need for them grows. The three executive members of Kirkland Lake Pro-Life were getting on in age and their health was deteriorating. Then one passed away and the president, veteran pro-lifer Dorothy Carston (now 89), felt she could no longer shoulder ... (Continue reading)
