The threat of Planned Parenthood

International International Planned Parenthood Federation has become one of the most powerful organizations on earth. Its policies, and the great success it has had in persuading various governments to implement them, are having far-reaching effects right now on the everyday life of billions of people, and will be one of the major influences on the moral and ethical attitudes of future generations. The IPPF is a globe-grinding octopus with its headquarters in London, England, and affiliated national Associations ... (Continue reading)

O.H.I.P. pays for legal aborts

The Globe & Mail, June 15, 1983, reported that an un-named Ontario doctor received $1,200 earlier this year from the Ontario Health Insurance Plan for 18 illegal abortions. OHIP policy is to pay for abortions done in approved and accredited hospitals. The doctor in question submitted claims with a hospital number attached. When the mistake was discovered, he was refused subsequent claims. OHIP is recovering the money by deducting it from the doctor's next monthly claim. Spokesman for OHIP, Mr. ... (Continue reading)

A teenager tells the truth

Wendy Godsoe is 16 years of age, a grade 11 student at Malvern Collegiate Institute in Toronto. The following is the text of a speech given by Wendy to her Level 5 English class. She accompanied her presentation with graphic photographs of the results of types of abortion she describes, together with a fact sheet detailing fetal development. Wendy's speech opened many of her classmates' eyes - she gave them facts never before heard in their ... (Continue reading)

University Avenue – an Auschwitz for the unborn – Abortion Blvd.

Life is cheap in Canada in 1983. Is it now common sport in this country to murder the handicapped? Recently is was discovered that an Edmonton doctor fatally injected a handicapped newborn. Not too long ago the courts had to order a life-giving operation to Stephan Dawson, a retarded child, this, over the objections of his parents. At the same time that "Dr." Morgentaler, a fee-charging hit man at the service of pregnant women, opened his snuff house ... (Continue reading)

N.D.P. reaffirms pro-abortion stand

The New Democratic party has a long-standing policy of abortion on demand. This was reaffirmed at the party's national convention held in Regina the weekend of July 1. Delegates to the convention also lent support to two further anti-life resolutions. Firstly, the NDP officially supports Henry Morgentaler's abortion clinics in both Winnipeg and Toronto. The party also supports the establishment of similar clinics throughout the Canada "wherever necessary." Secondly, the party condemned the alleged police "harassment" and the ... (Continue reading)

How quickly they forget

At the press conference on June 7 in Toronto, where Morgantaler announced the opening date of his Toronto clinic, his supporters handed out "information kits" to the press. One of the pieces of paper was a reprint of articles by Michele Landsberg in the Toronto Star and Laura Sabia in the Toronto Sun. Landsberg's article (November 4, 1982), opened: "Dr. Henry Morgantaler is not going to open an abortion clinic in Toronto. Nor, despite some exceedingly nasty rumors, is he scheming to ... Abortion and the conscience of the nation

Reprinted with permission The 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade is a good time for us to pause and reflect. Our nation-wide policy of abortion-on-demand through all nine months of pregnancy was neither voted for by our people nor enacted by our legislators - not a single state had such unrestricted abortion before the Supreme Court decreed it to be national policy in 1973. But the consequences of this judicial decision are now obvious: since ... (Continue reading)

Editorial- Brian Mulroney and the abortion issue

The bands have gone, the delegates have gone, the Ottawa Civic Centre is left awash with picket signs, banners, badges and other rubble, indicating the passing of the momentous Tory Leadership Convention on June 12th. That convention elected a new leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. The new leader is bilingual, well educated and handsome - but where does he stand on pro-life? During the P.C. Leadership Convention, both Tories for Life and Campaign Life were active and persistent ... (Continue reading)

The Province and the Clinics

Mr. Williams: Mr. Speaker, I have a question of the Attorney General. Legal abortions in this province can be performed only with the approval of therapeutic abortion committees at accredited hospitals. Dr. Morgentaler, the well-known abortionist, held a news conference this day indicating that next Wednesday he would be opening in this city a free-standing abortion clinic to operate in defiance of the existing law. On more than one occasion the Attorney General has publicly stated he will enforce the ... (Continue reading)

Winnipeg clinic closed … but not permanently

A joyous group of Pro-Life protesters gathered on the lawn in front of the Winnipeg Abortuary which was closed temporarily at the beginning of this month. Since then, the clinic has reopened because charges against the doctors and nurses had not been laid. The latest development, however, is that the Manitoba Provincial Government has laid down a charge of performing an illegal abortion in which nurses and doctor and Henry Morgentaler are named. For anyone wondering why charges were ... (Continue reading)

Morgantaler Abortuary opens in Toronto

On June 7, I had the opportunity to play reporter and attend a press conference that undoubtedly opened my eyes wider than they've ever been opened before. At 10:45 a.m., I walked into the Studio Place at the Carlton Inn, trying desperately to appear like I'd done this one hundred times before. How is a young, female reporter who is about to sit in on the Press Conference of abortionist Henry Morgantaler, supposed to appear, anyway? Confident (definitely not trembling ... Abortion linked to final solution

A historic decision by the West German Constitutional Court (Bundesverfass- sungsgerecht) linked the anti-life mentality with that of the Nazi regime. The Court ruled as unconstitutional an amendment to the penal code which would have permitted abortion on demand within the first twelve weeks of life, and pronounced on the Government's duty to protect the life of unborn children. In its judgement the court stated: "The Constitution protects life being developed in the mother's womb as an independent legal entity. The express inclusion ... (Continue reading)

Homemaker’s continues pro-abortion propaganda

The April 1983 issue of Homemaker's magazine includes yet another hard-line pro-abortion article. The column in this issue under the heading "Healthwise" was written by Naomi Mallovy, who tried to substantiate her pro-abortion position with wildly inaccurate and totally false statements such as "... an early abortion by a qualified medical practitioner is at least eight times safer than childbirth..." The article also supports illegal abortionist Henry Morgentaler and also states that abortion is a solution to child abuse, juvenile ... (Continue reading)

U.S decade sees steady increase in abortions — beware

The National Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia, is well known for its use of selective data on the abortion issue. The Center is operated by hard-line pro-abortionists and as expected, its data over the years has been highly slanted, in favor of the pro-abortion cause. For example, the Center recently reviewed selective data from institutions that are under strict medical control and then presented this to the medical profession and the public as a true picture on abortion-related ... Conscientious objection to abortion by nurses

Canadian nurses, who do not wish to assist at abortions, are in a very difficult legal position. This is based on the fact that there is no "conscience clause" in the abortion section of the Federal Criminal Code. The Provincial Human Rights Codes, however, usually provide that no one can be discriminated against on the basis of "creed". Thus, nurses, in theory, cannot be refused employment or have their employment terminated if their "creed" prohibits abortion. However, in actual practice, ... (Continue reading)
