The National Campus Life Network is dedicated to promoting the pro-life activism on university and college campuses. Recently, NCLN held its annual symposium at St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto, bringing together 35 representatives from pro-life clubs across the country. On Oct. 22, more than 2000 people turned out for the Defund Abortion Rally at Queen’s Park organized by Campaign Life Coalition Youth. Eight speakers made the case against funding abortion insisting that the procedure is not medically necessary and highlighting what real health care is not covered by public funds. There will be a ‘Defund Abortion Rally’ in Toronto at Queens Park on Saturday, Oct. 22. The purpose of the rally is “to make defunding abortion an issue in the newly elected provincial government,” organizer and head of Campaign Life Coalition Youth Alissa Golob told The Interim. Pro-life activism in high schools in Canada is essential. According to Statistics Canada just over 16 per cent of abortions were performed on girls aged 15-19 in 2006.
