Fr. Benedict Groeschel, director of the office of spiritual development in the Archdiocese of New York, excoriated the moral breakdown of Canada, including abortion and same-sex “marriage,” at the Lift Jesus Higher Rally. At least 7,000 people attended the event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on April 7. Among the speakers were: Groeschel; Ralph Martin, president of Renewal Ministries; Dana Scallon, a pro-life recording artist and former member of the European Parliament; Fr. Stan Fortuna, a South Bronx priest who uses hip hop music to evangelize; and Jim Hughes, president of Campaign Life Coalition.
