The Father Ted Colleton Scholarship

$1,000.00 for each recipient as determined by the selection committee, whose decision is final

Payment is made to the college/university where the recipients are in attendance in the fall of 2002.

Students to recieve a certificate to be presented to them at the school's graduation ceremony.

Eligibility for the scholarship

entrants must:

  • be high school students in graduating year
  • demonstrate proof of interest in or active involvement in "life issues" and the pro-life movement
  • submit two letters of reference, one of which must be from a school staff member
  • submit a self-profile outlining their participation in school life/activities
  • include official school transcript documenting academic program and results
  • include copy of most recent report card

The Contest Rules

Students must submit a typed original essay, postmarked no later than February 26, 2002, on the topic:

"The responsibility and opportunity of youth to contribute to the growth of the pro-life movement"

The length of the essay must be between 800 and 1000 words.
