Perv abortionist to face 90 accusers

PHOENIX - The Maricopa County Superior Court has ruled that abortionist Brian Finkel, accused of 67 counts of sexual misconduct for molesting his patients before, during and after committing abortions on them, will face all his accusers during one trial. The court reversed an earlier decision that would have meant separate trials for each of the 90 complainants. Finkel, celebrated for his "courageous" defence of a "woman's right to choose" by the media and feminists, has publicly dubbed himself "Elvis the Pelvis" and called his abortuary "the vagina vault."

Lutherans for Life meet

NEVADA, Ia - Nearly 250 people from both Canada and the U.S. attended the 20th national Lutherans for Life convention. This year's theme was "Time to Speak." During his Sunday sermon, NLL executive director James I. Lamb said, "It is time to speak because we, as God's people, have something to say ... It is time to speak because we have a message of life and people do not need to turn to death as the solution to their problems." Dr. Laurence L. White, senior pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Houston, Tx, told the audience that on the issue of abortion there is "only one Christian position. Only one human position." Consequently, he vowed, "No more compromise. No more delay. The killing must stop." In a pre-convention workshop, LFL president Linda D. Bartlett said, "We can begin to eliminate the reasons for abortion, broken hearts, sexually transmitted diseases, and separation from God by raising sons to chivalry and daughters to purity!"

Technician sues for conscience rights violation

MINNEAPOLIS - Fairview Hospital fired Donald Grant after the ultrasound technician attempted to dissuade a woman from having an abortion. Grant is suing the clinic's owners, Fairview Hospital & Healthcare Services, claiming violation of his Title VII protections under the Civil Rights Act. Grant is represented by attorneys with Liberty Counsel. It is the first time in his 15 years working as an ultrasound technician that a patient's intake form indicated a woman was scheduled for an abortion. Grant said that as a person of faith, he has an obligation to try to talk the woman into changing her mind. The woman did not file a complaint but the hospital fired Grant over the incident. Under Title VII, an employer must try to accommodate an employee's religious beliefs.

Pro-abortion bankruptcy bill defeated

WASHINGTON - A bankruptcy reform bill with the pro-abortion Schumer amendment was soundly defeated after pro-life Republicans joined Democrats worried about other provisions of the legislation in a 243-172 vote. The bill would have allowed abortionists to financially cripple pro-life activists that they claim threaten their business by not allowing pro-life activists to gain bankruptcy protection as entitled to every other American citizen. The Christian Coalition, Family Research Council, Focus on the Family and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops made this an immediate post-election priority, concerned that the House might try to pass it during the lame duck session. Kenneth Connor, president of the FRC, said, "This was a big win for the pro-life movement."

Doctor's group endorses gay adoption

WASHINGTON - Despite overwhelming evidence that children fare better in homes with married, heterosexual parents, the 93,000-member American Academy of Family Physicians passed a resolution endorsing homosexual adoption. Warren Jones, the president of AAFP, said the resolution was the result of a "compromise," to which the Family Research Council responded, "He's right. The group's decision compromises the best interests of children." The AAFP failed to recognize the unique and vital contributions only a father and mother can provide to a child. The FRC said, "Try as they might, gay couples cannot model the three important relationships that are crucial examples to children at home: that of a husband and wife, mother and father, and male and female."

PP and parental consent

WASHINGTON - The Culture and Family Institute reports that Planned Parenthood is requesting parental consent for a poster contest. Planned Parenthood has long opposed parental consent for minors to commit an abortion, but the abortion giant's SaveRoe.com website is promoting a "Roe at 30" artwork and poster contest which requires "children under 18" to have "a parent or legal guardian's permission to submit their designs and for us to publish their names". Michael Schwartz, Concerned Women for America's vice-president for legislative affairs, said, "I thought Planned Parenthood recognized no limits in its contempt for parental rights until I saw this. What a relief that they have finally found an occasion to affirm the protection the law traditionally provides for children through parental custody!"
